Traditional Bakery Given Taste of the Future

One major UK bakery is cooking on gas in every sense after Burner & Flame Technologies installed a state-of-the-art hotplate at its Northern Ireland base.

The equipment is absolutely pivotal to its reputation for bringing the methods and tastes of Irish home-baking to shop shelves, but the company was in danger of losing its traditional touch when its old system failed to keep up with current Health & Safety rules. Fortunately, BFT stepped up to the plate, designing, building and installing the new system in a highly successful five-figure refurbishment.

Bakery staff are delighted to have an up-to-the-minute adaptation of the centuries-old method of cooking soda bread and potato farls on a flat griddle pan over the household’s open fire. The impressive installation, which is now fully compliant with all Health & Safety regulations, allows the company to continue doing what it does best – marrying traditional regional recipes with modern technology on a commercial scale.

As well as delivering fantastic results for customers, BFT’s new hotplate with its precision controls brings the business the additional benefit of improved fuel efficiency, saving the company money and boosting its environmental credentials in the process.
